The weather was simply awesome for the running of the 2008 NHRA Winternationals. While I only made it out on Thursday and Friday I did watch the Sat and Sun ESPN shows on my HD TV. I thought that ESPN did a good job with the show and would much rather watch the elimination action on Sunday sitting in my living room then have to deal with the huge crowd out at Pomona. I did however wish I was there to get a chance to capture the fricken massive explosion from the Q sponsored Tony Pedregon AAFC. It was a spectacular incident and made the Today show and thankfully Tony only suffered minor injuries on the run. I am sure he felt a lot more pain in his wallet especially since he red lit and his day was over. He and his brother Cruz are excellent racers and I really enjoy watching the Pedregons. It was a pretty quiet day with the only drama being that Scott Kalitta put his DHL machine in the sand after making the best FC run during the Thursday qualifying session. Enjoy!
